I would highly recommend Southport Rd dental for anyone who is a nervous patient like myself. I hadn’t attended a dentist for many years due to bad experiences at other practices. I knew I needed treatment and I really wanted to address my fears so this time I did my research,I found this practice... had great reviews from nervous patients. From my first consultation with Rashmi I knew I was in good hands, it was a totally different experience than I’ve had before. Rashmi understood my concerns and we spoke about how we can work together to overcome them. I was booked in for sedation for some restorative work . I was apprehensive at first as I have had sedation at another practice that didn’t work very well. However this time the sedation worked well and I was able to have a 2 hour long treatment with no memory of it whatsoever! I now have a new found confidence that I can attend regularly, something I never thought would be possible.Everyone goes above and beyond from the reception team to the clinicians.read more

Wow were do I start, am a very nervous patient, dentist and teeth my biggest fear, hence why I would never go I haven’t been for a very long time, years and years. At Southport Road Dental clinic I have received outstanding dental care and I rate this practice as the best there is in the area. I see Rashmi, the dentist and Rebecca, the hygienist, at regular intervals but have also seen David and once saw Marc for an emergency appointment. I am happy to... recommend this clinic to anyone who is looking for high-quality dental treatment. I list below what I see as the key features of this practice and I have tried to explain the reasons for my judgement.It offers the following:• highly skilled professionals who are able to provide advanced dental procedures such as teeth straightening and implants (my husband has had a very successful implant sorted out by David);• a practice that is prepared to invest in the latest technology (I have had a crowned tooth made by 3D printing on the premises in 30 minutes rather than the traditional procedure of removal-temporary crown-final fitting);• care shown in checking ongoing dental health eg. comparison of new X-rays with old, comparison of measurements of gum-line at regular intervals etc. (eg. it was noticed that I was wearing down the surface of a crowned tooth and it was suggested that I would benefit from a dental night guard which has protected the tooth for some years now);• dentists who take time to discuss your care needs, explain the situation and possibilities for treatment and answer your questions; (I have just been concerned about a possible oral cancer which was checked by both David and Rashmi who referred me to a consultant the same day);• minimal waiting times as the staff do their best to see you at your appointment time;• excellent and friendly support staff;• a pleasant environment – all recently modernised with more rooms being built;• a practice that is open long hours to accommodate those who are working;What more can I say except that I feel fortunate that we have this facility here in Chorley.read more

A great book written by RashmiI really like this book - "P.S.I love me."It is well thought out and beautifully written, very relevant at a time when many youngsters are being led into trying, as they perceive it , to improve their appearance.There is freedom in her writing and the language is... directed to the younger generation.Her strong message is the value of self worth will override the negative peer pressure. It also expresses the importance of strong family values.The content of the book which includes poem and photographs is excellent. I have been registered at this practice for many years and have always been satisfied with the care and attention given to me.Recently I had problems and Rashmi told me I needed root canal... treatment followed by crowns. Rashmi and her team are amazing and I cannot recommend enough! I recently had an extraction with sedation and it was by far the best dental experience I've ever had.Due to a previous bad experience elsewhere I am a very anxious and nervous patient and just the thought of undergoing another... extraction terrified me. Rashmi took time to thoroughly discuss all my options and her reassurance provided me with confidence in my decision. Rashmi has a very patient, caring and professional manner and is very empathetic with her approach. I just knew I was in good hands.The sedation was amazing! I contacted David 8 months before my wedding day, hoping he could give me straight white teeth! He did not let me down! I was in the chair having my braces fitted withing days, after our first email. I'm a patient of David for over a year. I've decided to changed my smile and do braces( Im 39 year old now).Which is happened and I've been told I may need to remove a teeths maybe in a few months time. So I've been told I need to remove just one but I was so nervous for 3 weeks before my app and... my visit been booked for the 6th of January.It is pain free dentistry that's what they say ? And it is 100%true 😃 I have a chat with David before the procedures he asked me what I'm afraid etc and he told me to relax. He use a numb gel so didn't feel any discomfort of the injections and he removed my tooth within a second don't even hear a crack sound. He did make sure I've not bleed after procedure as I have a blood condition disease which been checked with my hematology doctor if is safe to do before by David.I highly recommended David as a dentist and orthodontist and looking forward to smile with confidence every day 😄Kind regards Magdalenaread more

I cannot praise this dentist practice enough. I have in the past had bad experiences from dentists and this has made me very apprehensive, to say the least, with visiting dentists. I was that worried about going to the dentist, I have suffered for years and used strong pain killers instead of... sorting the problem. Being in pain was no way to live so I decided enough was enough. My partner found Southport Road Dental for me as they advertise pain free dentistry. Given my past experiences I was very sceptical but being in pain again, I needed help. My consultation went well, everyone I met was friendly and my dentist Richa Sharma was amazing, taking time to make me feel calm and relaxed. As I had expected I required a couple of extractions and a filling which were then booked in. I must admit I didn't think I would be able to pluck up the courage to go back but I did to start my treatment. They advertise pain free dentistry and that is exactly what you get. Richa Sharma Is absolutely amazing. She has an amazing knack of being able to make you feel relaxed, explains everything and goes at a pace you are comfortable with. So far I have had one extraction and a filling and have felt nothing during the procedure. I still have more treatment and at the time of writing this, I am psyching myself up for today's visit.I just want to say a huge thank you to Richa and not forgetting Richa's assistant, (I do hope that is the right term) who is absolutely lovely. Review for Southport Road Dental Practice - Pain free Dentistry.Conscious Sedation.Rashmi and David are the most empathic and patient centred Dentists I have ever experienced…When Rashmi offered conscious sedation as a possible solution to my inability to access root canal treatment, I was... resistant to say the least!However, Rashmi allayed every fear I had and explained the safety aspects/risks/benefits of conscious sedation for patients like myself, who could otherwise face losing their teeth.I have had 3 conscious sedations for root canal treatments in the last few months. I wish I had accessed it earlier by trusting Rashmi’s Experience, professionalism, patience and genuine care…Following the sedations I had no recollections of the treatment which is a Huge benefit to anxious patients like myself. All 3 sedations were positive experiences enhanced by the amazing team at Southport road - Julie and Lindsey the sedation nurses were calm, reassuring and warmly supportive, as were all the other staff present during my treatments! For somebody who is very nervous of the dentist and has put off dentist trips for a number if years, I can honestly say they have squashed my fears. We have lots of fun and laughter and never a tear shed in pain.An amazing team await you at Southport Rd, everyone person you meet there makes you feel... special and “ at home”.It’s true, I was a very nervous patient the first time I attended but I have honestly never looked back. The treatment and service is beyond perfection, everyone is amazing and such genuine and lovely folk too.It’s seldom you go to the dentist and hear giggles coming from the practice but it is a regular experience at this remarkable practice. . I would give more than 5 stars if I could!As someone with a severe dental phobia (due to a very negative childhood experience) which meant I hadn’t visited a dentist for a number of years, it took a lot for me to even take the first step and contact Southport Road. But I am SO glad I did! From... the very first response from Rashmi, I felt like she understood my needs and she couldn’t do enough to make me feel relaxed and comfortable with attending. This is a place that genuinely cares about patients.All of the staff that I met were lovely and friendly. When they say that they treat everyone like they’re part of their family, it really is true! Rashmi is literally one of the nicest people I’ve ever met and Lindsey, the dental nurse, actually gave up her lunch break so they could fit me in for an emergency appointment! She was so supportive throughout my treatment too.Basically, I have gone from feeling abject terror at even the mention of the word ‘dentist’ to having pain-free treatment on my first visit. I’m now feeling really positive about future treatments and getting a smile I can feel proud of. I have just had my 8 years anniversary to the practice and I can safely say it's has been a constant 8 year pain free experience, I have seen David who is by far the best dentist I have ever come across, and Rebecca as the hygienist is by far the best, I get told off as we all do, but I can't fault... the service from all the staff. I decided to try this dentist on the recommendation from my partner who cannot praise them enough.After an appointment with David and hearing that I needed treatment lasting approx 2 hours, the thought of being in the chair for this length of time absolutely terrified me. After discussing my... options I decided to have the treatment done under sedation.I had a meeting beforehand with Rashmi who explained the whole process in detail and assured me I wouldn’t feel a thing. Although still very nervous on the day, the 2 nurses, and Rashmi were wonderful in keeping me calm and feeling relaxed. Before I knew it, after what felt like 5 minutes in the chair, but was actually 2 hours, I was amazed to find that David had done all the work needed and I didn’t feel and barely remember anything at all.I cannot thank the team enough and would not hesitate in having this done again if needed.read more

I have recently had treatment for root canal work with David and the whole procedure was absolutely painless. David assured me through the whole process and the experience at the practice was outstanding with exceptional customer care and value. Ive always had a terrible experience when visiting the hygienist in the past and was nervous facing my 1 hour appointment. I needn't have worried, Kelly looked after me for the full hour and was very gentle but totally thorough. Kelly talked me through the process and also demonstrated how to clean my teeth more effectively. Once completed it felt like i had a brand new smile, healthy, clean and strong gums. I first started coming to Southport Road just over a year ago. After a really helpful consultation I would go on to meet David and discuss the correct treatment suited to me. We decided that clear invisible braces on the top and bottom would be the best choice. After a year of treatment I can... safely say David and his team have been amazing. David is a real professional, up for a laugh and did a great job putting me at ease, which is pretty tough since I'm unfoundedly nervous at the dentist. I was never in doubt and general nerves aside I had complete trust and confidence in David and his assistants. From the front door the reception staff are welcoming, friendly and happy to help. The practice states itself as pain-free and flexible and it was completely true, zero pain and prepared to make arrangements around work. Southport Road really was the best fit for me. I couldn't be happier with the final results, this past year has definitely been a great confidence booster thanks to receiving brilliant service at all turns. I had not been happy with my teeth for years and would cover my mouth when smiling etc. but I researched David’s practice and decided to finally bite the bullet and cannot tell you how glad I am that I did!! David is really really lovely, makes you feel completely at ease with no pain whatsoever.... My appointments were always on time, we always had a laugh and I would genuinely look forward to going to the Dentist! The service here could not be better, truly five stars. I feel welcomed, unhurried and in safe professional hands. All of my treatments have been painless, tactful and caring - Rashmi is my dentist, and she is as gentle as a butterfly. I actually feel relaxed leaving here, even after a wisdom tooth... extraction. Hygienist service is impeccable and all of the staff show 100% commitment and knowledge re: individual personal dental hygiene from prevention to cure. Appointments are quick and accessible, and the waiting rooms thoughtfully provide a calming space to sit, but the wait is never long, they are too professional to ever leave you waiting. I attended Southport Road Dental Surgery in order to have clear braces, a treatment that spanned over 12 months. This is without doubt the best dental experience I have ever had - David and his team are professional, kind, and go above and beyond for their patients. I am not a fan of dental... procedures, however David's calm and professional manner completely put me at ease - it really is the pain free dentist! It is a very flexible service, and reception staff and the team work hard to fit you in and work around your own busy schedule. For my treatment it was competitively priced and they delivered excellent quality care. I am so happy with the result and 100% glad that I had braces at Southport Road, I would do it all again tomorrow! I have also recommended David and the team to any one who says they are considering having adult fixed braces. I am so happy with the treatment that I am hopefully going to continue to use Southport Road for my regular dental treatment, despite now living in Birmingham.
