Every so often, we receive feedback that really reminds us why we do what we do. Recently, we received a heartfelt letter from a patient, Jonathan Causon, who kindly gave us permission to share his story.

Jonathan has lived with a deep fear of dental treatment for many years, made worse by previous negative experiences and the impact of the COVID years. As someone with Autism/Asperger’s Syndrome, visiting any healthcare setting can feel overwhelming. Clear communication, trust and reassurance are essential, and we’re incredibly proud that our team was able to deliver that for him.

From his first contact with the practice, Amy helped Jonathan feel at ease. Her calm, understanding approach made a real difference and she even arranged for him to meet his dentist, Jen, on the same day. That personal connection gave him the confidence to take the next step.

Jonathan described Jen’s care as nothing short of exceptional. He never felt rushed or dismissed. Everything was explained clearly, and she made sure he felt safe and in control at every stage. Her calm, respectful manner helped build a level of trust he had never experienced before, and he also called her dentistry “a work of art.”

When Jonathan needed a more complex procedure, he was treated by our oral surgeon Claire, who helped him stay calm and well-informed throughout. During that appointment, when things became overwhelming, Jane, one of our nurses, was by his side. Her steady, caring support helped him through the moment and made sure he felt reassured and supported.

Jonathan told us this experience has been life-changing. Restoring his dental health was one of the hardest personal goals he had set, and he truly didn’t believe he could face it. Thanks to the team, not only did he achieve it, but he did so with a renewed sense of confidence and belief in himself.

Given how my mouth looked before and after the results speak for themselves. David and his team did a brilliant job with inside braces top and bottom (that was my preferred treatment due to my job). I cannot recommend Dave highly enough! I have been a patient of his for around 8 years and wouldn’t trust anyone else with my dental care. Not only is Dave incredibly skilled and professional, but he is also one of the friendliest and most welcoming dentists you could hope to meet — he puts you at ease from the moment you walk through the door.Recently, I chose to have my teeth straightened with clear brackets, alongside whitening. Dave took the time to talk me through a range of different treatment options in detail, helping me choose the plan that was right for me. I highly recommend this dental surgery, I was a shaking nervous mess, and Dr Rashmi and her husband Dr David made me feel so special, calmed me in their professional and very calming manner, I had X-rays, exams, dental treatment and I was worried I would never smile confidently again after a sudden tooth loss. Well.. I’m smiling now and am so grateful for their care and attention to detail. They and their team went above and beyond, I feel so looked after and it made a very upsetting experience so much easier.For me , I had to have the conscious sedation, it was explained to me in great detail, multiple times, it was just an option, not obligatory, but I knew I needed it and I was right. I felt no pain, and felt so safe, it’s changed dentistry for me, I am no longer afraid and am very proud of myself 🥰 xx

I registered with the practice 2 years ago and have only positive experiences to report. While standard procedures such as checkups, fillings and hygiene appointments have been great, my experience in tooth alignment was exceptional. Marc was fantastic from my first consultation to each and every appointment and query since then. The alignment, whitening and cosmetic tweaks resulted in a perfect job overall. When I first visited Southport Road Dental Surgery two and a half years ago, I was terrified, and hadn't seen a dentist for decades. It was such a relief to meet Rashmi, who didn't judge, but discussed my fear with kindness, patience and empathy. Because of that, I agreed to have my mouth checked and x-rays taken that day! Rashmi took a lot of time ensuring I was happy with every move. I needed a lot of treatment and, with sedation a week later, I didn't remember any of it.Later on, I had my teeth straightened and some veneers applied where my teeth didn't look good. This took many visits to David over a period of 18 months. I was really frightened to begin with, but it helped that David explained every part of the treatment beforehand, and he made me laugh. He was very careful to ensure I felt OK with everything and that there was no pain.I can honestly say that I have no fear of going to the dentist now. Everyone at Southport Road - the reception staff, the dental nurses, Rashmi, David and Marc - has been brilliant. They gave me a smile and I am so grateful to them all for looking after me so well. I can't recommend them enough!

Such an amazing team! I called in with pain needing an extraction and they were able to fit me in within 24 hours, As an anxious person I find it hard to be in medical practices due to thoughts of being judged however everyone here is lovely and judgement free and very empathetic to my situation. The extraction went very smoothly and painless considering that I thought my case would be more complicated, you can really tell everyone does an outstanding job and really cares about the quality of care to their clients.Thank you so much again!!

5 Stars – A Truly Outstanding ExperienceI’ve been a patient at Southport Road Dentist for many years and have always received excellent care. However, over time, I fell out of the habit of going regularly due to various personal reasons, and as a result, the thought of returning became quite daunting—mainly because of my own anxiety.Eventually, I developed a decaying back tooth and had no choice but to make an appointment. I booked in with Richa—and I’m so glad I did. She’s an absolutely fantastic dentist.From the start, she proposed a clear and reassuring three-stage plan: first, to treat the decaying tooth, followed by a visit to the hygienist, and then a longer-term care plan to address other areas. Her approach immediately put me at ease.Yesterday, I had an old crown replaced—and I cannot express how amazing the experience was. The old crown was gently removed, all the surrounding adhesion carefully cleaned, and then a cutting-edge 3D image of my entire mouth was taken. Incredibly, a brand new crown was printed in the surgery in real time and fitted perfectly—all in a single session. It honestly blew my mind.Throughout the entire process, Richa was kind, gentle, and completely transparent—explaining every step so I was never left anxious or unsure. There was no sudden prod or unexpected drill; everything was communicated clearly and calmly. It made such a difference.I know I’ve gone on a bit here, but I’m genuinely so happy. The first time I met Richa, she was excetionally understanding and empathetic regarding my fear of the dentist chair! Richa immediately put me at ease with her calm, happy, friendly and chatty demeanour, to the point I forgot I was talking to a dentist :)Since that first meeting, on every subsequent visit Richa has talked and reassured me through every single part of any procedure, thus keeping me informed, but moreso very calm! I trust Richa implicitly and feel reassured that with her caring for my teeth I can feel relaxed knowing I am in very capable, caring and professional hands. I carried out some extensive research about this dental practice and especially regarding the ‘Pain Free’ element as I have always suffered with pain when having any dental work done. First met Kate at my initial appointment and then I was introduced to David as I was looking to have either implants fitted or dentures due to my bridges and crowns failing after 35yrs or so after a road accident. David and his team reassured me and talked me through the various options and time scales and costs and especially the ‘pain free’ element. I started my treatment back in Feb 2024 to have my left side teeth removed and implants fitted and during the course of the year following on with my right side being also done, finishing in December 2024. I cannot thank David and his team enough for his care and expertise in carrying out my dental work and I can honestly say that it was ‘Pain Free!’I cannot recommend this dental practice enough and if I could rate them 10 stars I would.

I had given up hope of having my teeth fixed. I thought I'd never have a smile again. I couldn't go to a normal dentist because of my anxiety issues and even normal sedation would be difficult. I found these guys by accident and decided to give it a shot and they have changed my life. They understood my problem and went above and beyond to find a way to help me. I am an anxious person in general, so when it came to needing dental surgery, I was very reluctant to go through with it. Unfortunately, the dental practice did not take my pre-existing conditions into account. Following standard practice, they did not try to preserve my teeth but instead extracted them. During the attempt to remove an inflamed tooth, it broke. Another practice had to fix this issue. They also ignored my teeth grinding condition. A simple brace could have not only preserved my teeth but also stabilized my jaw.A nurse working alongside the dentist verbally lashed out at me and demanded that I stay quiet, stating that I should not disturb other patients with my complaints of pain.I was so mentally distressed by the experience that, to this day, I have a fear of dental treatments.Now, I have to undergo an extremely expensive reconstruction.

I attended an appointment here as an initial consultation. I have not attended a dentist for many years due to a number of reasons, mainly due to how they made me feel. When I arrived I was greeted, made to feel welcomed and most importantly listened too. There was many tears and feelings of being overwhelmed, however, Rashmi and her team were very supportive and most of all non-judgemental.I had a few appointments to discuss my treatment plan, sedation and results that I wanted. I was sedated under the pain free dentistry which I never thought was possible, however, the team were professional throughout all the planning and I felt at ease being informed of every step of my treatment plan.I have researched dentists for a number of years, booking appointments and cancelling them , due to fear and worry. However, I took the plunge to see Rashmi and I am so happy that I did. I have been on a journey and still have a journey to go however, I would never go anywhere else for dental work. I highly recommend Southport Road Dental Practice to anyone. Even if you drop them an email or see them for an initial consultation you will feel welcomed and not judged. I've been scared and avoided going to the dentist for years. Rashmi and David at Southport Rd Dental were recommended to me and I decided to take the plunge. From the moment I spoke to Rashmi, she put my mind at ease. The initial consultation was extremely calm and Rashmi was unbelievably patient with me. Fast forward 10 months and I've had various treatments and Root Canal treatment with sedation. I've even let Rashmi file a tooth without any sedation. I can not fault this practice! I had a full set of braces on for almost 2 years, every time I attended I was seen on time and all the staff are the friendliest I've met. If you are thinking of getting braces I highly recommend coming here and If David does them I know you are in good hands. My only regret is not getting them done sooner.

I was really lucky to stumble across Southport Road dental surgery a long time ago!From the first visit I knew it was a good find. The reception staff make you feel like you are special ,how you find such lovely staff I don't know.Onto the dentists who are second to none & this includes Michelle the hygienist such a lovely person & great at what she does.Rashmi& David are a great couple with nothing too much trouble. If you need an emergency appointment they go out of their way to fit you in. I was recommended this dentist practice, in particular Dr Rashmi. The whole team makes you feel at ease. Having dental anxiety this is very important for me. I opted to have dental sedation. The whole process was amazing from the pre appointments to the aftercare. The sedation itself allowed the work to be done, and everyone's attitude helped me to remain calm. During the pre appointments, Dr Rashmi was able to get me to use different skills to get xrays that I have been unable to do previously. The sedation appointment was also fantastic. Throughout the process, the team checks on you, and nothing is too much trouble. Overall, not only has this experience allowed me to gain confidence in visiting the dentist, but given me the confidence to smile again.

I can’t thank the team at Southport Road Dentist enough. Every person I came into contact with, whether that be over the phone or face to face, did nothing but make the experience as easy and as comfortable as possible. I have felt unhappy about my tooth for a couple of years now. I can’t praise or thank everyone enough, from receptionists and dental nurses to the dentists themselves who provide a friendly comfortable atmosphere for even the most dental-phobic patients - of which I am one! From my first assessment appointment I was patiently listened to and my fear of experiencing pain dealt with by providing sympathetic but professional reassurance. Being faced with the terrifying prospect of needing root canal work, Dr Rashmi took her time to explain the process to be carried out. At no point did I feel rushed into any decisions but with all the facts at my fingertips my selecting sedation whilst the work was carried out proved to be the best decision I’ve ever made. Having been afraid of dentists since a child (now 70+) I now feel I’ve found my “home” at last, where I know I’ll be taken good care of and have access to painless dentistry. Thanks Dr Rashmi and David. And it doesn’t end there - I was contacted the day after to ensure I was ok after sedation with a review examination arranged a few days later for her to ensure the work had been successful. I cannot recommend this dental practice enough and discovered it when i was researching dental sedation.I have a dental phobia and needed some treatment - from that first phone call where I was distraught just ringing for an appointment, every member of staff has been fantastic, understanding and non judgemental.I had treatment under dental sedation and this has been a complete game changer for me. Rashmi and all the staff are so understanding and patient. They really do care and have everyone's best interests at heart.I'm still anxious, but thanks to this amazing place and caring staff - I hope to one day say 'I had a dental phobia' - not have!

I would highly recommend Southport Rd dental for anyone who is a nervous patient like myself. I hadn’t attended a dentist for many years due to bad experiences at other practices. I knew I needed treatment and I really wanted to address my fears so this time I did my research,I found this practice had great reviews from nervous patients. From my first consultation with Rashmi I knew I was in good hands, it was a totally different experience than I’ve had before. Rashmi understood my concerns and we spoke about how we can work together to overcome them. I was booked in for sedation for some restorative work . I was apprehensive at first as I have had sedation at another practice that didn’t work very well. However this time the sedation worked well and I was able to have a 2 hour long treatment with no memory of it whatsoever! I now have a new found confidence that I can attend regularly, something I never thought would be possible.Everyone goes above and beyond from the reception team to the clinicians.

I had a dental emergency, and after leaving an email telling David what had happened (bridge came loose) He rang me at home and said he would see me immediately. This was Saturday afternoon. Wow were do I start, am a very nervous patient, dentist and teeth my biggest fear, hence why I would never go I haven’t been for a very long time, years and years. I felt traumatised by the thought and affected me badly. With support from family and friends I was booked an an appointment with Rashmi, I had my consultation and I was booked in for my treatment, teeth extracted and a deep clean. I will not lie I was very scared, I mean scared. I initially went to see David for teeth straightening options but he immediately spotted I had some issues with my gums that would need to be dealt with first. At Southport Road Dental clinic I have received outstanding dental care and I rate this practice as the best there is in the area. I see Rashmi, the dentist and Rebecca, the hygienist, at regular intervals but have also seen David and once saw Marc for an emergency appointment. I am happy to recommend this clinic to anyone who is looking for high-quality dental treatment. I list below what I see as the key features of this practice and I have tried to explain the reasons for my judgement.It offers the following:• highly skilled professionals who are able to provide advanced dental procedures such as teeth straightening and implants (my husband has had a very successful implant sorted out by David);• a practice that is prepared to invest in the latest technology (I have had a crowned tooth made by 3D printing on the premises in 30 minutes rather than the traditional procedure of removal-temporary crown-final fitting);• care shown in checking ongoing dental health eg. comparison of new X-rays with old, comparison of measurements of gum-line at regular intervals etc. (eg. it was noticed that I was wearing down the surface of a crowned tooth and it was suggested that I would benefit from a dental night guard which has protected the tooth for some years now);• dentists who take time to discuss your care needs, explain the situation and possibilities for treatment and answer your questions; (I have just been concerned about a possible oral cancer which was checked by both David and Rashmi who referred me to a consultant the same day);• minimal waiting times as the staff do their best to see you at your appointment time;• excellent and friendly support staff;• a pleasant environment – all recently modernised with more rooms being built;• a practice that is open long hours to accommodate those who are working;What more can I say except that I feel fortunate that we have this facility here in Chorley.

I hadn’t been to the dentist for 20 years, I was so frightened, but desperate to get my smile back. I had a damaged front tooth and crooked teeth, it was easier not to smile than face my fears. Eventually, I plucked up the courage and went to see David. He was amazing, he was so calming and supportive. He talked me through all my options and understood how scared I was, so advised me to see Rashmi. She was so kind and understood every single thing I was scared about. Between the two of them, I have gone through 18 months of treatment and finally feel confident to smile. I came to the Southport Road dental practice in difficulty, unable to arrange the treatment I needed elsewhere, despite seeing another dentist regularly. I was anxious, knowing that I needed a tooth to be extracted. But having had teeth taken out before, I knew it was not a procedure to look forward to. David agreed to see me, and I can only describe the care he gave me as exceptional. He put me at ease straightaway, explained everything thoroughly and I felt no pain at any point. A great book written by RashmiI really like this book - "P.S.I love me."It is well thought out and beautifully written, very relevant at a time when many youngsters are being led into trying, as they perceive it , to improve their appearance.There is freedom in her writing and the language is directed to the younger generation.Her strong message is the value of self worth will override the negative peer pressure. It also expresses the importance of strong family values.The content of the book which includes poem and photographs is excellent. It has a refreshing outlook on aesthetic care.I highly recommend it to anyone considering facial rejuvenation.

I would highly recommend Southport Road Dental Practice for anyone who is at all nervous of the dentist. I have been registered at this practice for many years and have always been satisfied with the care and attention given to me.Recently I had problems and Rashmi told me I needed root canal treatment followed by crowns. I recently had an extraction with sedation and it was by far the best dental experience I've ever had.Due to a previous bad experience elsewhere I am a very anxious and nervous patient and just the thought of undergoing another extraction terrified me. It really is Pain Free!! I can't recommend Rashmi and her team enough. I was so nervous about visiting the dentist. I was made to feel at ease throughout and had my treatment as planned. I am extremely nervous of the dentist, I came yesterday to have root canal and other treatments done which was a very long appointment for someone who’s scared. I have a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist. A friend recommended Southport Road Dental. After the initial consultation, I was given a very clear treatment plan. The dentist, Cate, has been very patient with me, she helped me to remain calm. Cate went through every procedure with me on each visit. She would check I'm ok throughout the appointment. Each dental nurse I've had in the room has been very kind and supportive. I contacted David 8 months before my wedding day, hoping he could give me straight white teeth! He did not let me down! I was in the chair having my braces fitted withing days, after our first email. I was a little nervous but David made me feel comfortable and reassured.
He took the braces off 3 weeks before the wedding then quickly got me set up with teeth whitening.
I spent the whole day of my wedding smiling! Knowing that my teeth looked amazing! A friend came to me and said 'every picture I have, you have a massive smile on your face' you should always smile on your wedding day but without the help from David I would have felt uncomfortable smiling with my old teeth!!

I cannot praise this dentist practice enough. I have in the past had bad experiences from dentists and this has made me very apprehensive, to say the least, with visiting dentists. I was that worried about going to the dentist, I have suffered for years and used strong pain killers instead of sorting the problem. Being in pain was no way to live so I decided enough was enough. My partner found Southport Road Dental for me as they advertise pain free dentistry. Given my past experiences I was very sceptical but being in pain again, I needed help. My consultation went well, everyone I met was friendly and my dentist Richa Sharma was amazing, taking time to make me feel calm and relaxed. As I had expected I required a couple of extractions and a filling which were then booked in. I must admit I didn't think I would be able to pluck up the courage to go back but I did to start my treatment. They advertise pain free dentistry and that is exactly what you get. Richa Sharma Is absolutely amazing. She has an amazing knack of being able to make you feel relaxed, explains everything and goes at a pace you are comfortable with. So far I have had one extraction and a filling and have felt nothing during the procedure. I still have more treatment and at the time of writing this, I am psyching myself up for today's visit.
I just want to say a huge thank you to Richa and not forgetting Richa's assistant, (I do hope that is the right term) who is absolutely lovely. Thank you to everyone at Southport Road Dental, a truly amazing dentist.

Conscious Sedation.
Rashmi and David are the most empathic and patient centred Dentists I have ever experienced…
When Rashmi offered conscious sedation as a possible solution to my inability to access root canal treatment, I was resistant to say the least!
However, Rashmi allayed every fear I had and explained the safety aspects/risks/benefits of conscious sedation for patients like myself, who could otherwise face losing their teeth.
I have had 3 conscious sedations for root canal treatments in the last few months. I wish I had accessed it earlier by trusting Rashmi’s Experience, professionalism, patience and genuine care…
Following the sedations I had no recollections of the treatment which is a Huge benefit to anxious patients like me. All 3 sedations were positive experiences enhanced by the amazing team at Southport road - Julie and Lindsey the sedation nurses were calm, reassuring and warmly supportive, as were all the other staff present during my treatments! Rashmi performed the sedations whilst David expertly completed the root canal treatments…
I am eternally grateful to you all for getting me out of pain and saving my teeth - You’re absolute legends!

He gave me options, advised me on the best ways to straighten my smile and even put me at ease when I needed a small tooth extracted. One of my biggest worries!

They are amazing! From start to finish! I used to be an extremely nervous patient but David reassured me that I had nothing to worry about! They were gentle and having the braces put on and removed didn’t hurt in the slightest. Best Dentist I’ve ever been to! I felt really safe as they have given me emotional support as well. I had to have an emergency tooth extraction as my whole cheek was very swollen. I was seen as an emergency. Bad infection and tooth needed removing. I hadn't been anywhere near a dentist since I was forced to go as a child. I dont know how I managed to go through my 20's and 30's without problems with my teeth, they were lovely and clean with no fillings. My gums however where not doing so well, I used to spit large amounts of blood when I cleaned my teeth but just chose to ignore it.

I am a needle phobic, something I have really struggled with for years and have some pretty horrific memories of sitting in that dentist chair.

I reached a point where I needed to try and move forward with my dental phobia, my luck would run out at some point and I didnt want to have to approach a new dentist in an emergency situation. I needed to find someone I could open up to and trust. Someone to work through options and treatments with me step by step.

I got in touch with Southport Road Dental in Chorley as they provide sedation dentistry as an option for nervous patients. Rashmi and her team could not have been more welcoming, understanding, knowledgeable and professional. I didnt feel judged having neglected my gums and that was so important to me. From the initial consultation right through my treatment pathway I have been cared for to an exceptionally high standard, Rashmi went above and beyond.

The sedation worked really well and was painless. Even though I still have anxieties, Rashmi has been there for me every step of the way and we can continue to work on keeping regular appointments and moving forward.

This dental practice and not only saved me losing my teeth but has changed my outlook on my oral health and general well being.

For any dental phobics out there, please dont hesitate to give them a call. You don't even sit in the dentist chair for the first appointment. Just go and have a coffee and a chat and see what they could do for you. I promise you wont regret it.

I couldn't thank David and the team enough for transforming my smile and (not to sound dramatic) but my life too! I've honestly not stopped smiling since and having straight teeth has made me feel so much more confident in myself.

It's a big decision to get braces at 27 but after looking at myself on Zoom calls for months, I knew I had to do something!

I'd been to other orthodontists for an initial consultation but I was confident from my first contact with David (via the virtual consultation email), I knew I could put my trust in him.

The braces were really discreet and the treatment throughout was pain free, which I was surprised and very happy with! The whole team were always very friendly and put me at ease throughout the whole process. I wouldn't say I look forward to going to the dentist, but I never felt nervous either which is definitely a good sign.

I can honestly now say that getting braces and getting them with Southport Road Dental was the best decision of my life. Thank you so much!

I cannot recommend Southport Road Dental enough, they are outstanding. Very professional, modern high quality dentistry & pain free. Met David and Rashmi about 10 years ago and they treated me then with a very personal and caring approach. Before I met Rashmi I hadn't been to a dentist in over 4 years. Due to my strong gagging reflex and an extreme nervousness: the idea of going to a dentist was simply not something I could comprehend. However having waited in the waiting room at the surgery in the past; so knowing a bit about it and feeling relatively OK in the surgery and knowing they dealt with extremely nervous patients, I decided to give it a try. I'm really pleased that I did. The treatment I got from and continue to get from Rashmi and the entire team is simply amazing. I am still nervous but I trust her and the team implicitly. She worked with me; talked me through everything and alleviated my fears as much as she was able to; without me feeling judged. The whole team is friendly and welcoming and it is just a wonderful practice. It is not a practice that feels clinical, which to me helped enormously but at the same same the work is done to the highest level. I would highly recommend the whole team but especially Rashmi. I am very nervous about going to the dentist but I had to go as I was in pain. My husband and I did our research and Southport Road Dental scored highly on the satisfaction scale. I’ve never been so happy with my smile !! I had my teeth straightened, whitened and I had 2 teeth removed and felt absolutely nothing! I was so scared and nervous about having teeth removed but David make me feel so comfortable and reassured me I would be ok and I was. I cannot recommend Southport Dental enough. I’ve had a lot of work done, including tooth removal, bone grafts and implants. Everything was explained beforehand and throughout and everybody made me feel at ease. I was very nervous when I first stared going so I was sedated for some of the work but after a few treatments I was able to have the rest of the work done without sedation. Thank you to David for his amazing work, he really is a genius! And thank you to the very kind dental nurse who held my hand when I needed it! You guys have done incredible work and made me very happy. Thank you.

From meeting Maria to talk about what I wanted to achieve by coming to the surgery to being seen by Rashmi and the team, who treated me with care and patience, listening and taking time to understanding my fears and giving me a clear treatment plan that would help improve my oral health.

Wow! I had two wisdom teeth removed and was very nervous having been told it’s a major job. Well what a load of tosh. I didn’t feel a thing and it was over quickly. Initially I went to SRD to have my teeth straightened, I was so pleased with the results and treatment that I received that I registered myself and my husband with the practice for all of our dental care. Thanks to David I am no longer conscious about the appearance of my teeth; he has restored my smile and I am thrilled to bits. Tonight I had my first check up and hygienist appointment. Having a cleft palate and, as a result my jaws cut to bits/resectioned amongst other things, I *have* to have a good dentist. It's like the NHS handed me this £x00,000 piece of art - and I'm totally not to be trusted to look after it! I've seen David for years and every single element of my dental health is meticulously monitored and managed. But this dedication applies across the entire team - there's no panic if David isn't available, as Rashmi is perfectly happy picking up any dramas and handles them just as professionally. Supported by the amazing Reception and admin teams nothing is ever a crisis. I cannot speak highly enough of them in keeping my expensive work-of-art in top condition.

But also the dedication and attention to detail from the Hygienists is amazing. I've had *many* dental cleans in my life, but Michelle is absolutely *incredible* and the best ever. She works so hard and meticulously goes over every very single one of my weird and dodgy cracks-and-crevices and owns the entire cleaning process with me - you come back with serious homework to undertake between visits, and that suits me absolutely. Do not ever let Michelle leave! 😍

Hopefully, with the help of everyone at SRD my NHS £x00,000 investment will remain in excellent condition to my end-of-days ... I wouldn't trust anyone else! 💞

Absolutely brilliant . Fitted me in as an emergency when my usual dentist couldn't.
Lovely receptionist , very kind as I was feeling sick due to dental abscess. Dentist explained everything / didn't feel a thing , even injection as he used numbing gel prior to injection. Drilled , cleaned out & packed tooth with dressing. Will be changing to this dentist even though it's 30mins from home ,

I cannot believe the difference going to this dentist has made to me, when I initially attended to discuss a possible brace i basically had a meltdown a tooth had fallen out and i just didn't know what to do i was truly unhappy with the appearance of my teeth and didn't feel that would change , I also hadn't found a dentist who I felt was really helping me ...A year later and I've just had my brace taken off and I'm a truly different person because of it. Thank you so much to David and team for totally tranforming my teeth in less than a year. I unfortunately cracked my teeth as a child and spent all my teens hating them. I first went to Southport Road Dental a year ago after my own NHS Dental receptionist told me I couldn't be seen about a cracked tooth one Friday morning because I wasn't in pain, but I should ring after the weekend to be triaged!
I was drawn to them because of the 'painfree' aspect and I've found that they certainly live up to it.
I usually see Alice and she always puts me at ease. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming and I'd recommend this practice to anyone and it's definitely worth the trip from Southport to me!

I'm absolutely terrified of dentists. It's the only phobia at 58 years old I cannot get a grip on.
I found Southport Road Dental on line and liked the 'pain free' focus.
I have now had 3 appointments and can honestly say although not major treatments for someone as nervous as me treatments of any kind are a major stresser.
My appointments have been handled with professionalism, empathy and care. I have felt in control at all times and have full confidence in their handling of my treatments.
I still have a way to go to get my smile at its best but I'm a lot closer than I was last month!

If your fear of visiting a dentist takes over your life. If you are too embarrassed to smile. If you are too afraid to brush your teeth in case you lose some of your teeth. If people look at the state of your mouth rather than look at you when you 'have' to talk to someone. If you fear you will get a lecture from the dentist when you've plucked up courage to think about booking an appointment. WORRY NO MORE THIS IS THE SURGERY TO GO TO ASAP. That's me above ! I wouldn't even smile on our daughter's wedding day for the photos !! I beg you to see these wonderful people. I'm NOT a family member or close family friend, I'm an extremely anxious person as far as dental treatment is concerned. 22nd July 2016 I had every tooth PAINLESSLY numbed and spent at least 45 mins in the hygienists chair listening to my music through their headphones so I couldn't hear the tools being used ! I then spent another 40 mins or so with Rashmie (David's wife) planning treatment and having rays. I didn't feel a thing - not even my nose !!! Please don't fear the dentist anymore, I'm not saying my fear has completely disappeared as I'm having 6 teeth removed this Friday and never had that under local so yes, I'm afraid of the unknown I'm only human after all, but I know for certain that every appointment after that will be a doddle (and when & if ever necessary again for whatever reason TOTALLY PAIN FREE). I know for sure that when I've paid off my bill I will get my husband off his NHS dentist's list straight to Southport Dental practice, these are the caring non judgemental people you need and want to look after your smile - if you don't have one, you will have soon, just like I will ☺

I have been in Show business nearly 40 years (good grief, that long !!) I sing, so need my teeth to look as good and white as possible, I have previously had two excellent dentist, one when I was young and a Harley street Specialist. I found David on the internet, and am I pleased, Over the years I have had all kinds of procedures to my teeth and gums more root canals than I have roots and Brunel would have been amazed at my bridge work. However the passage of time meant I needed major repair work done, and wow although I am still having treatment, I am totally impressed with the work done. Nothing is too much trouble and pain free is the truth. Implants, easy, no pain........and I can smile again. So if you are looking to find the perfect answer to any dental problems, look no further, you have found the best. If this sounds over the top, quite right, you will not find better. thank you, very very much.

I hadnt been to the dentist for 35 years. I became determined and saw this practice on line as good for dealing with nervous patients. After the first visit as was so surprised at how lovely they all are, patient, caring and not rushed. After a couple of visits I had 2 teeth removed. Without sedation. I will be going back. They are amazing and I will continue to recommend them x

Exceptional Dentists. Had fair amount of work done by the team here over the years including a crown and a root canal and never once had any pain or discomfort. Staff are always friendly even if I do get told off for my lack of / poor flossing regime ;-) Highly recommended.

When I first visited Southport Road Dental Surgery two and a half years ago, I was terrified, and hadn't seen a dentist for decades. It was such a relief to meet Rashmi, who didn't judge, but discussed my fear with kindness, patience and empathy. Because of that, I agreed to have my mouth checked... and x-rays taken that day! Rashmi took a lot of time ensuring I was happy with every move. I needed a lot of treatment and, with sedation a week later, I didn't remember any of it.Later on, I had my teeth straightened and some veneers applied where my teeth didn't look good. This took many visits to David over a period of 18 months. I was really frightened to begin with, but it helped that David explained every part of the treatment beforehand, and he made me laugh. He was very careful to ensure I felt OK with everything and that there was no pain.I can honestly say that I have no fear of going to the dentist now. However, over time, I fell out of the habit of going regularly due to various personal reasons, and as a result, the thought of returning became quite... daunting—mainly because of my own anxiety.Eventually, I developed a decaying back tooth and had no choice but to make an appointment. I booked in with Richa—and I’m so glad I did. She’s an absolutely fantastic dentist.From the start, she proposed a clear and reassuring three-stage plan: first, to treat the decaying tooth, followed by a visit to the hygienist, and then a longer-term care plan to address other areas. Her approach immediately put me at ease.Yesterday, I had an old crown replaced—and I cannot express how amazing the experience was. The old crown was gently removed, all the surrounding adhesion carefully cleaned, and then a cutting-edge 3D image of my entire mouth was taken. Incredibly, a brand new crown was printed in the surgery in real time and fitted perfectly—all in a single session. It honestly blew my mind.Throughout the entire process, Richa was kind, gentle, and completely transparent—explaining every step so I was never left anxious or unsure. I carried out some extensive research about this dental practice and especially regarding the ‘Pain Free’ element as I have always suffered with pain when having any dental work done. First met Kate at my initial appointment and then I was introduced to David as I was looking to have either... implants fitted or dentures due to my bridges and crowns failing after 35yrs or so after a road accident. David and his team reassured me and talked me through the various options and time scales and costs and especially the ‘pain free’ element. I started my treatment back in Feb 2024 to have my left side teeth removed and implants fitted and during the course of the year following on with my right side being also done, finishing in December 2024. I can’t praise or thank everyone enough, from receptionists and dental nurses to the dentists themselves who provide a friendly comfortable atmosphere for even the most dental-phobic patients - of which I am one! I list below what I see as the key features of this practice and I have tried to explain the reasons for my judgement.It offers the following:• highly skilled professionals who are able to provide advanced dental procedures such as teeth straightening and implants (my husband has had a very successful implant sorted out by David);• a practice that is prepared to invest in the latest technology (I have had a crowned tooth made by 3D printing on the premises in 30 minutes rather than the traditional procedure of removal-temporary crown-final fitting);• care shown in checking ongoing dental health eg. comparison of new X-rays with old, comparison of measurements of gum-line at regular intervals etc. (eg. it was noticed that I was wearing down the surface of a crowned tooth and it was suggested that I would benefit from a dental night guard which has protected the tooth for some years now);• dentists who take time to discuss your care needs, explain the situation and possibilities for treatment and answer your questions; (I have just been concerned about a possible oral cancer which was checked by both David and Rashmi who referred me to a consultant the same day);• minimal waiting times as the staff do their best to see you at your appointment time;• excellent and friendly support staff;• a pleasant environment – all recently modernised with more rooms being built;• a practice that is open long hours to accommodate those who are working;What more can I say except that I feel fortunate that we have this facility here in Chorley.read more

My first experience was with Richa Sharma I can only describe her as amazing she has rekindled my faith in going to the dentist she is open and answers any questions her recommendations have been excellent and they... do not push you into anything. A great book written by RashmiI really like this book - "P.S.I love me."It is well thought out and beautifully written, very relevant at a time when many youngsters are being led into trying, as they perceive it , to improve their appearance.There is freedom in her writing and the language is... directed to the younger generation.Her strong message is the value of self worth will override the negative peer pressure. It also expresses the importance of strong family values.The content of the book which includes poem and photographs is excellent. It has a refreshing outlook on aesthetic care.I highly recommend it to anyone considering facial rejuvenation.read more

I would highly recommend Southport Road Dental Practice for anyone who is at all nervous of the dentist. I have been registered at this practice for many years and have always been satisfied with the care and attention given to me.Recently I had problems and Rashmi told me I needed root canal... treatment followed by crowns. Being a very anxious person, the thought of undergoing such treatment terrified me.However, I needn't have worried as Rashmi discussed in details all my options and gave me time to think it through.I went ahead, opting for sedation on both appointments.What an experience - I have no memory of the procedures and suffered no pain during them.David, Rashmi and Lesley the dental nurse were wonderful! Rashmi and her team are amazing and I cannot recommend enough! I recently had an extraction with sedation and it was by far the best dental experience I've ever had.Due to a previous bad experience elsewhere I am a very anxious and nervous patient and just the thought of undergoing another... extraction terrified me. Rashmi took time to thoroughly discuss all my options and her reassurance provided me with confidence in my decision. Rashmi has a very patient, caring and professional manner and is very empathetic with her approach. I just knew I was in good hands.The sedation was amazing! I have no memory of the procedure and my nerves just melted away. It was a million times better than my last experience elsewhere with absolutely zero pain!!! I cannot recommend and thank enough!All the staff are really friendly and you are always greeted with a warm welcome which instantly puts you at ease.It was the best experience, I would give 10 stars if I could. David, Rashmi and the team at Southport Road Dental Practice have been looking after my teeth for years and they are excellent. The staff are professional and make sure that you are fully informed at ease during any treatments. Preventative hygiene visits (twice a year for me) and a yearly check up... mean that actual dentistry is rare! Would highly recommend.read more
