With a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons I aim to help the people of Chorley keep their teeth for life. Highly skilled in authentic smile makeovers, which includes anything from crowns, veneers, implants, bridges and straightening. I want to help patients to overcome their dental anxiety without judgement.

Meet Rashmi

Practice owner with David, Rashmi has a special interest in dealing with nervous patients, particularly those in need of sedation. Recently she completed a Sedation and Pain Management post-graduate certificate. It didn’t just look at sedation, it showed you a process of how to help an anxious patient. In addition, she has also started to practice ethical facial aesthetics alongside her day job as a dentist.

After qualifying and training in Newcastle, Alice moved to the North West and took up a position within a dental hospital. Gaining fantastic experience in this setting she decided that general practice was where her heart lay and we were lucky enough to have her join our team.

She has been with us since September 2016 and has been a firm team favourite ever since. As with all our clinicians she is focused on providing excellent care and maintaining her training and skills to deliver the best treatment.

Marc completed his degree at the University of Liverpool and has worked in a hospital setting in Newcastle and also performed as an Associate Clinical Lecturer at Newcastle Dental Hospital.

He is passionate about providing the very best dental care and exceptional service and is committed to continue learning to keep at the forefront of technologies and techniques.

Meet Sarah

Dental Therapist GDC 106131

Sarah is a dedicated and compassionate Dental Therapist who graduated Liverpool University Dental Hospital in 2007. Sarah provides high quality care to her patients.

Sarah has a calm, caring and friendly manner, with patience and empathy when dealing with dental anxiety.

She is passionate about treating periodontal disease and strives to get the best from her patients, helping patients feel more confident about their smiles. Sarah also enjoys doing tooth coloured restorations.

Outside of Dentistry, Sarah has a great love for all animals. In her spare time volunteering for the British Hen Welfare Trust. She enjoys travel and adventures with her husband and gardening, her happy place!

Meet Katie

Dental Therapist GDC 194141

My name is Katie and I qualified as a dental therapist in 2010, having been a dental nurse for ten years prior to this.

I joined Southport Road in 2021 and provide restorative treatment, confident in treating patients with advanced gum disease, sensitive teeth, and post-implant care.

My passion lies in treating patients with dental anxiety, making them feel at ease and conquering their fears of dental treatment.

We started taking my daughter to Southport Road when she was a child as she had become really nervous of going to the dentist. The whole team were so kind and patient, they were amazing with her, and now the whole family go there. About 18 months ago I decided I would like to have my teeth straightened to improve my smile: Marc explained the process really clearly to me and used sure smile aligners to reposition any badly aligned teeth, and composite edge bonding to give each tooth a better shape. I’ve been delighted with the results. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this practise, whether it’s for treatment needed to deal with dental pain or for cosmetic treatment.

Given that I did not have an appointment I was found a slot within 30 minutes. David got the job done within another 30 minutes. This dentist offers no pain dentistry and this is what it does well- no one needs to be afraid and every member of staff are so nice, if you do need any dental treatment I would use southport rd dentist

I have been visiting Southport Road Dental for approximately 12 years. Since moving away from the area, I have continued to use the practice despite the 120 mile round trip! This alone is a testament to the confidence I have in David and his team.Due to my travel time, I always arrive for appointments early and am usually greeted by Lucia in reception who is lovely.David is the ultimate professional and has a brilliant manner. On a number of occasions, I have contacted David regarding unexpected dental concerns. David has responded with appropriate advice or has been willing to see me at short notice. One such occasion was quite recently when I emailed David regarding a tooth that had started to ache. Twelve months earlier, David had predicted that this tooth would require some attention on my next visit. David’s prediction was accurate and a few days later I was sitting in his chair having root canal treatment. I can honestly say that this procedure which was quite intrusive was totally pain free. Even in the following days I experienced no soreness whatsoever. David has now completed this treatment with a crown and I am confident that this will last for years to come!Since visiting Southport Road Dental, I have regularly seen Rebecca who is the hygienist. Rebecca is also lovely and totally professional and considerate of the patients’ needs. I had never seen a hygienist previously and thanks to Rebecca my oral health has improved considerably.My experience at Southport Road dental has always been amazing and I would have no hesitation in recommending David and his team.

The experience I have had with this dentistry is absolutely brilliant, I was treated by Cate and Jodie, I felt like I mattered, they listened to me, i have really bad anxiety and thoroughly explained procedure, advised on what was best for me personally, put me at ease straight away, on my day I had treatment I felt everything was perfect, I cannot praise the team enough and its as advertised pain free, the aftercare advise, I have had no problems and you get a call to ask if you are ok and if you have had any problems, I would recommend people again and again ❤️ sorry no photo, no teeth hahahaha Julie Roberts

Paid consultation fee and was told I needed further work before invisalign could be fitted. Work came into the cost of 500 pound so I wasn't able to get treatment done at the time. Phoned back now I have the money to book treatment which has been some time because of the cost. To be told I need to pay for another consultation of 150 pound! Before I can even see a dentist and get treatment. Phoned another dentist which offered a free consultation and a appointment the same day to see hygienist. Avoid this dentist its just a money making scheme.

My dentist, Marc Coombes explained the planned works fully and provided accurate costings up front. Attended with a fractured tooth- ended up having prep work done for 2 crown covers?Was given a follow up gir 10 days later.Been in absolute agony now since nerve block wore off!Trying to get an appointment -never had any pain prior to visit!So disheartening - just hope he hasn’t done more damage ….3 years on and this dentist David has completely messed up my teeth! A 2 nd opinion following a failed bridge he dud dhies he laterally just patched me up! Now im having ti have implants in all too teeth .Choose carefully

I went to the practice on recommendation and im very glad I did.The name Pain Free dentistry? really, could that be an actual thing?Well it really is.Ive had a lot of treatment, fillings, crowns, root canal treatment with Mark and I can honestly say that it was pain free and very importantly anxiety free. No more sleepless nights when your appointment is looming. What a *GREAT* day at the dentist (and I don’t know how many people can say that).I firstly need to say I’m a ‘professional’ on what excellent, knowledgeable dental care is having been born with a cleft palate/lip. I can’t afford not to have *the* best dentist after 20yrs of surgeries to build a face, which included surgery to take my jaws apart and put them back together in a different order. Southport Road dental have been the ongoing custodians of my dental miracle for many years and the knowledge, awareness and joined-up care from all the team (including hygienists) has always been outstanding.I know about ‘painful’ and ‘pain-free’ dentistry. At Southport Road Dental I don’t ever even have a tensing of my fingers (or the second sign, tension in calves/feet!) no matter what the complexity of work. It truely is pain-free and everyone from Reception to all the dentistry teams will treat you with the utmost care and respect from the start of your engagement with them.The teams are *so* knowledgeable about the most complex dental procedures - you can tell for everyone this a vocation not just a job. Each time I go I learn more and more about the miraculous jaw surgery I had, and the team are the most professional support crew I could hope for to make sure everything stays in good shape. But on this visit I needed a crown to replace an old amalgam filling. … It was an amazing and fascinating experience!Firstly, you literally never feel anything - even the dental injections to numb the areas are not felt, never mind the actual work. David then showed me the incredible technology they use - firstly to scan my mouth/teeth in 3D/colour - then how he uses that image to create the unique, individual-to-me crown that will have a perfect bite. Once he’s programmed the scanner it shows an image of the crown, how it’s perfectly moulded to fit my tooth and also shaped for the perfect bite. He takes a small block of the dental material to another machine where it’s automatically cut from the scanned image. It’s then fired at tremendous temperature so it will be stronger than my natural teeth and when cooled it’s fitted (including other amazing processes for fixing in place). And after David finished a few final polishings you instantly have the perfect bite. And all without feeling a thing from start to finish!I’m the F1-professional-Driver level of dentistry Client - I *have* to have a support crew as expert, knowledgeable and efficient as *the* best F1 Pit Crew ever, and Southport Road Dental have always been that partner for me for many years. From ongoing maintenance and cleaning advice with the hygienists, to expert monitoring and advice on my complex dental ‘artefacts’ to keep the miraculous gift I was given by surgeons many years ago in excellent shape.Today it was an absolute privilege to see ‘behind the scenes’ at the levels of their expert knowledge and it’s blown me away. And that takes some doing for someone who has been through what I have.I can guarantee to you this standard of service isn’t limited to one Dentist or one Hygienist, it’s a team standard and those high standards apply right through the Reception teams also. If you need a truly professional and truly pain-free Dentist this is the place. Just for interest, the photos attached is the incredible machine cutting/making my crown that David had designed. It’s not often you can say ‘I’ve had a *GREAT* day at the dentist’ but today I have. Thank you to all the team! 💕

I can’t recommend Southport Road Dental practice enough and in particular Alice. I was totally terrified of the dentist following a few bad experiences as a child and had put off attending for a VERY long time. I desperately wanted to get my broken front tooth fixed so that I wasn’t so self conscious of it. When I first visited Alice in October she immediately calmed my nerves. She always lets me know what is going to happen prior to doing anything and having now had a lovely front crown fitted I am actually happy to smile again. I am delighted with the final results. I haven’t experienced any pain whatsoever throughout the work done so far.If you’re considering going to the dentist, be brave and go here they’re brilliant!Thank you so much Alice and also your dental nurses, you’re all amazing 🤩

Please make an appointment for a chat if you are nervous or scared of dentists. I haven't seen a dentist for over 40 yrs as I shake and cry etc even going through the door. I had left it till desperate as worried I was losing my teeth. I arrived with my husband shaking and crying Kate was amazing so quietly spoken and calm took examination very slowly at my pace. I have just been back for treatment under sedation which was much better for me everything went brilliant.I can't praise this surgery enough I am even going back for a follow up. Truly pain free, and so reassuring for nervous patients like me!I've been terrified of going to the dentist for as long as I remember, and have refused to go for over 10 years (despite shattering a tooth).I live miles away from the practice but the reviews and pain free promise made me comfortable enough to at least go for a consultation.I'm so glad I did. David was incredibly friendly and reassured me from the start. He had a speedy look in my mouth and I had a few x-rays including the remnants of my shattered tooth. It was relieving to find out I had a lot less problems than I had expecting.Knowing my nervousness, he suggested I see the hygienist first and explained that the only sensation would be a little water in the mouth. Rebecca was so patient (sorry I kept you late) and made me feel at ease during the process. I'm genuinely looking forward to next hygienist appointment. My teeth felt so much cleaner after this.I also needed a couple of fillings and the remnants of that tooth removing. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't terrified for this. David did a great job of making me feel at ease when we discussed the treatment (although I forgot it all when I was stressing about it at home).I thought pain free would be just a cutesie saying and it would still hurt a bit. I genuinely didn't feel a thing. No pain from the needle, as I was numbed before it, no pain from the fillings (my fave part) and no pain from the extraction (took him all of 30 seconds).I can't thank everyone at the practice enough. Everyone has been absolutely lovely. I'd recommended in a heartbeat, especially if your nervous and getting back into the dentist like I was.

I had been having loads of issues trying to find anywhere to help with my wisdom teeth and other issues. They helped me get seen a quickly and was able to get everything sorted within a short time. Patrick Hesketh was very kind and gentle making sure i wasn’t in any pain and gave me steps on where they where at the whole time. The removal didn’t take long and was in no pain even a few days after just mild aches. Everything was so amazing and my life will improve massively without the daily pain. Woke up with severe toothache on Tuesday morning, rang Southport Road Dental at 10 am, appointment booked for 11 am and tooth extracted by 11:30 am. The entire process—from start to finish—was completed in just two hours and was completely painless. Absolutely brilliant! Rashmi and her team took me from being an extremely nervous patient who would not even have a scale and polish without IV sedation and fear of the needle to having 6 extractions in one go with only the needle and no sedation! I cannot recommend them enough❤️Another challenge😳 loose tooth, couldn't fit partial denture in, early flight following day, having a breakdown and scared of the dentist 😳 however from the moment I made the call to Southport Road I knew I would be OK, was seen by Mark as an emergency and within 10 minutes the tooth was out and everything was back to normal I cannot speak more highly of them, everyone of the staff there plays a part in helping you through your fears. I would not go anywhere else and cannot thank them enough💗

It wasTwenty years since I last attended a dentist appointment, not because I couldn't find a dentist but because of sheer fear of dentists which was due to having a bad experience. I felt physically sick if anyone mentioned a dentist in passing conversation and I felt like a big softie but the fear and how I felt kept me away for all of them years.I started to have niggles in my teeth and discomfort and plucked up the courage to research online, even doing the research sent me into a trembling mess. I came accross the Pain free dentist in Chorley and read all about the treatments and the reviews left by patients, which were amazing and I thought if they could do it, then so could I. I contacted the dentist and on first impressions the dental receptionist was warm and caring and understood how I felt. I made my appointment and was met by Kate the dentist. We discussed my fears in depth and my trust started to grow slowly as she understood and listened to me.My treatment was for an extraction, filling and descale, as I had gum disease too. I agreed to return for treatment but we agreed that the sedation would be the best route for me. Again this was discussed in depth and health checks were done.On the day of my treatment, even though I was nervous, I didnt feel sick and I slept the night prior to treatment day. Kate had gone through my treatment and I knew what was going to happen. Kate and her assistant were welcoming and reassuring and before I new it I was being sedated. I don't really remember anything from the treatment other than them checking my pulse and blood pressure. Then my husband was there to collect me and I went home.The whole experience has changed my concept on dentists, I have a follow up soon and will continue with further treatment needed. Wow, I cannot believe the difference in me and visiting a dentist. There is still a journey to go on but I have total trust in Kate and the team.I wasn't in any pain or discomfort during my treatment and a minute amount of pain after the treatment, nothing a paracetamol couldn't sort out.I totally get why they are called a pain free dentist and I am so glad I found them and plucked up the courage to contact them.

I visited Southport Road Dental Surgery after a terrible experience at my previous dentist.From the first visit I found all the staff so helpful and friendly.Mr Hickey explained everything very clearly and can honestly say i could not feel any pain during the dreaded root canal treatment. I reviewed this dentist around two years ago but I came away for a time so I have decided to review again. I have never been great with going to the dentist but Southport Road dental is truly amazing.My current dentist, Cate, is absolutely superb. Any treatment I have had has been pain free. I recently had an extraction and i didnt even know the tooth was out. Cate has a knack of being able to make you feel at ease and is always happy to answer any question I have. Cate has helped me increase my confidence visiting the dentists.Sarah, my hygienist has helped me such a lot. Before seeing Sarah my gums would bleed so bad every time I brushed my teeth and I suffered with tooth ache. I was given two long appointments with Sarah, my teeth were so sensitive but after being numbed I didn't feel a thing. Honestly, my gums no longer bleed and my mouth is much healthier.Everyone I have met at Southport road dental has been polite, professional and welcoming. Amazing dentist and I will continue going.

It really is Pain Free!! I can't recommend Rashmi and her team enough. I was so nervous about visiting the dentist. I was made to feel at ease throughout and had my treatment as planned. My fear of the dentist has now reduced massively. It is all down to how well you are treated at Southport Road Dental practice. I was looked after by Lindsey prior to my treatment and afterwards. I am extremely nervous of the dentist, I came yesterday to have root canal and other treatments done which was a very long appointment for someone who’s scared. I decided to be sedated and the experience was brilliant ( can’t remember much) I never thought I would have a laugh in the dentist whilst having a cannula done 😵‍💫 but everything was relaxed, cate and the dental nurse ( sorry can’t remember your name) you was both brilliant with me and made me feel so comfortable. I have a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist. A friend recommended Southport Road Dental. After the initial consultation, I was given a very clear treatment plan. The dentist, Cate, has been very patient with me, she helped me to remain calm. Cate went through every procedure with me on each visit. She would check I'm ok throughout the appointment. Each dental nurse I've had in the room has been very kind and supportive. Cate's kind, calm and professional approach helped to put me at ease and trust in her. after several appointments, my oral health is now back on track and I couldn't be more grateful. I contacted David 8 months before my wedding day, hoping he could give me straight white teeth! He did not let me down! I was in the chair having my braces fitted withing days, after our first email. I was a little nervous but David made me feel comfortable and reassured.
He took the braces off 3 weeks before the wedding then quickly got me set up with teeth whitening.
I spent the whole day of my wedding smiling! Knowing that my teeth looked amazing! A friend came to me and said 'every picture I have, you have a massive smile on your face' you should always smile on your wedding day but without the help from David I would have felt uncomfortable smiling with my old teeth!!

I cannot praise this dentist practice enough. I have in the past had bad experiences from dentists and this has made me very apprehensive, to say the least, with visiting dentists. I was that worried about going to the dentist, I have suffered for years and used strong pain killers instead of sorting the problem. Being in pain was no way to live so I decided enough was enough. My partner found Southport Road Dental for me as they advertise pain free dentistry. Given my past experiences I was very sceptical but being in pain again, I needed help. My consultation went well, everyone I met was friendly and my dentist Richa Sharma was amazing, taking time to make me feel calm and relaxed. As I had expected I required a couple of extractions and a filling which were then booked in. I must admit I didn't think I would be able to pluck up the courage to go back but I did to start my treatment. They advertise pain free dentistry and that is exactly what you get. Richa Sharma Is absolutely amazing. She has an amazing knack of being able to make you feel relaxed, explains everything and goes at a pace you are comfortable with. So far I have had one extraction and a filling and have felt nothing during the procedure. I still have more treatment and at the time of writing this, I am psyching myself up for today's visit.
I just want to say a huge thank you to Richa and not forgetting Richa's assistant, (I do hope that is the right term) who is absolutely lovely. Thank you to everyone at Southport Road Dental, a truly amazing dentist.

Conscious Sedation.
Rashmi and David are the most empathic and patient centred Dentists I have ever experienced…
When Rashmi offered conscious sedation as a possible solution to my inability to access root canal treatment, I was resistant to say the least!
However, Rashmi allayed every fear I had and explained the safety aspects/risks/benefits of conscious sedation for patients like myself, who could otherwise face losing their teeth.
I have had 3 conscious sedations for root canal treatments in the last few months. I wish I had accessed it earlier by trusting Rashmi’s Experience, professionalism, patience and genuine care…
Following the sedations I had no recollections of the treatment which is a Huge benefit to anxious patients like me. All 3 sedations were positive experiences enhanced by the amazing team at Southport road - Julie and Lindsey the sedation nurses were calm, reassuring and warmly supportive, as were all the other staff present during my treatments! Rashmi performed the sedations whilst David expertly completed the root canal treatments…
I am eternally grateful to you all for getting me out of pain and saving my teeth - You’re absolute legends!

After years of hiding my teeth and hating myself in photos I took the plunge and went to david at southport road who really put me at ease. He gave me options, advised me on the best ways to straighten my smile and even put me at ease when I needed a small tooth extracted. One of my biggest worries!

Best Dentist I’ve ever been to! I felt really safe as they have given me emotional support as well. I had to have an emergency tooth extraction as my whole cheek was very swollen. I was seen as an emergency. Bad infection and tooth needed removing. I hadn't been anywhere near a dentist since I was forced to go as a child. I dont know how I managed to go through my 20's and 30's without problems with my teeth, they were lovely and clean with no fillings. My gums however where not doing so well, I used to spit large amounts of blood when I cleaned my teeth but just chose to ignore it.

I am a needle phobic, something I have really struggled with for years and have some pretty horrific memories of sitting in that dentist chair.

I reached a point where I needed to try and move forward with my dental phobia, my luck would run out at some point and I didnt want to have to approach a new dentist in an emergency situation. I needed to find someone I could open up to and trust. Someone to work through options and treatments with me step by step.

I got in touch with Southport Road Dental in Chorley as they provide sedation dentistry as an option for nervous patients. Rashmi and her team could not have been more welcoming, understanding, knowledgeable and professional. I didnt feel judged having neglected my gums and that was so important to me. From the initial consultation right through my treatment pathway I have been cared for to an exceptionally high standard, Rashmi went above and beyond.

The sedation worked really well and was painless. Even though I still have anxieties, Rashmi has been there for me every step of the way and we can continue to work on keeping regular appointments and moving forward.

This dental practice and not only saved me losing my teeth but has changed my outlook on my oral health and general well being.

For any dental phobics out there, please dont hesitate to give them a call. You don't even sit in the dentist chair for the first appointment. Just go and have a coffee and a chat and see what they could do for you. I promise you wont regret it.

I couldn't thank David and the team enough for transforming my smile and (not to sound dramatic) but my life too! I've honestly not stopped smiling since and having straight teeth has made me feel so much more confident in myself.

It's a big decision to get braces at 27 but after looking at myself on Zoom calls for months, I knew I had to do something!

I'd been to other orthodontists for an initial consultation but I was confident from my first contact with David (via the virtual consultation email), I knew I could put my trust in him.

The braces were really discreet and the treatment throughout was pain free, which I was surprised and very happy with! The whole team were always very friendly and put me at ease throughout the whole process. I wouldn't say I look forward to going to the dentist, but I never felt nervous either which is definitely a good sign.

I can honestly now say that getting braces and getting them with Southport Road Dental was the best decision of my life. Thank you so much!

Before I met Rashmi I hadn't been to a dentist in over 4 years. Due to my strong gagging reflex and an extreme nervousness: the idea of going to a dentist was simply not something I could comprehend. However having waited in the waiting room at the surgery in the past; so knowing a bit about it and feeling relatively OK in the surgery and knowing they dealt with extremely nervous patients, I decided to give it a try. I'm really pleased that I did. The treatment I got from and continue to get from Rashmi and the entire team is simply amazing. I am still nervous but I trust her and the team implicitly. She worked with me; talked me through everything and alleviated my fears as much as she was able to; without me feeling judged. The whole team is friendly and welcoming and it is just a wonderful practice. It is not a practice that feels clinical, which to me helped enormously but at the same same the work is done to the highest level. I would highly recommend the whole team but especially Rashmi. I am very nervous about going to the dentist but I had to go as I was in pain. My husband and I did our research and Southport Road Dental scored highly on the satisfaction scale. I was helped with my anxiety and my treatment went very well. Rashmi and Lyndsay couldn't have looked after me better, they are a great team. Nothing was too much trouble and they were very patient and caring. I now feel a lot better about my teeth and my appearance in general. Keep up the great work and thank you.

I’ve never been so happy with my smile !! I had my teeth straightened, whitened and I had 2 teeth removed and felt absolutely nothing! I was so scared and nervous about having teeth removed but David make me feel so comfortable and reassured me I would be ok and I was. I am always extremely impressed by the very attentive staff at Southport Road. Throughout life I have been an extremely anxious patient but at Southport Road I am always treated with the utmost care. The staff never rush me and are keen to explain and take the time needed to give me the confidence to proceed with treatment. I cannot recommend Southport Dental enough. I’ve had a lot of work done, including tooth removal, bone grafts and implants. Everything was explained beforehand and throughout and everybody made me feel at ease. I was very nervous when I first stared going so I was sedated for some of the work but after a few treatments I was able to have the rest of the work done without sedation. Thank you to David for his amazing work, he really is a genius! And thank you to the very kind dental nurse who held my hand when I needed it! You guys have done incredible work and made me very happy. Thank you.

My experience here can only be described as life changing!
From meeting Maria to talk about what I wanted to achieve by coming to the surgery to being seen by Rashmi and the team, who treated me with care and patience, listening and taking time to understanding my fears and giving me a clear treatment plan that would help improve my oral health.
I can now smile without being embarrassed about my teeth, feel confident that I know how to look after them through proper brushing techniques and more importantly, have a functioning relationship with a dentist I trust will keep me pain free and help me to make informed decisions about my care moving forward.

Wow! I had two wisdom teeth removed and was very nervous having been told it’s a major job. Well what a load of tosh. I didn’t feel a thing and it was over quickly. The only nerves I felt were in my head, not my mouth! Totally pain free. Initially I went to SRD to have my teeth straightened, I was so pleased with the results and treatment that I received that I registered myself and my husband with the practice for all of our dental care. Having a cleft palate and, as a result my jaws cut to bits/resectioned amongst other things, I *have* to have a good dentist. It's like the NHS handed me this £x00,000 piece of art - and I'm totally not to be trusted to look after it! I've seen David for years and every single element of my dental health is meticulously monitored and managed. But this dedication applies across the entire team - there's no panic if David isn't available, as Rashmi is perfectly happy picking up any dramas and handles them just as professionally. Supported by the amazing Reception and admin teams nothing is ever a crisis. I cannot speak highly enough of them in keeping my expensive work-of-art in top condition.

But also the dedication and attention to detail from the Hygienists is amazing. I've had *many* dental cleans in my life, but Michelle is absolutely *incredible* and the best ever. She works so hard and meticulously goes over every very single one of my weird and dodgy cracks-and-crevices and owns the entire cleaning process with me - you come back with serious homework to undertake between visits, and that suits me absolutely. Do not ever let Michelle leave! 😍

Hopefully, with the help of everyone at SRD my NHS £x00,000 investment will remain in excellent condition to my end-of-days ... I wouldn't trust anyone else! 💞

Absolutely brilliant . Fitted me in as an emergency when my usual dentist couldn't.
Lovely receptionist , very kind as I was feeling sick due to dental abscess. Dentist explained everything / didn't feel a thing , even injection as he used numbing gel prior to injection. Drilled , cleaned out & packed tooth with dressing. Will be changing to this dentist even though it's 30mins from home ,

I cannot believe the difference going to this dentist has made to me, when I initially attended to discuss a possible brace i basically had a meltdown a tooth had fallen out and i just didn't know what to do i was truly unhappy with the appearance of my teeth and didn't feel that would change , I also hadn't found a dentist who I felt was really helping me ...A year later and I've just had my brace taken off and I'm a truly different person because of it. Dr David Hickey and all the amazing staff have been friendly, supportive , informative and helpful ...I wouldn't dream about going anywhere else now and recommend this practice to everyone. Thank you so much to David and team for totally tranforming my teeth in less than a year. I unfortunately cracked my teeth as a child and spent all my teens hating them. The top right picture is before, then with my clear braces (which nobody could tell), after they came off and finally after composite bonding to fix the 2 front teeth. I first went to Southport Road Dental a year ago after my own NHS Dental receptionist told me I couldn't be seen about a cracked tooth one Friday morning because I wasn't in pain, but I should ring after the weekend to be triaged!
I was drawn to them because of the 'painfree' aspect and I've found that they certainly live up to it.
I usually see Alice and she always puts me at ease. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming and I'd recommend this practice to anyone and it's definitely worth the trip from Southport to me!

I'm absolutely terrified of dentists. It's the only phobia at 58 years old I cannot get a grip on.
I found Southport Road Dental on line and liked the 'pain free' focus.
I have now had 3 appointments and can honestly say although not major treatments for someone as nervous as me treatments of any kind are a major stresser.
My appointments have been handled with professionalism, empathy and care. I have felt in control at all times and have full confidence in their handling of my treatments.
I still have a way to go to get my smile at its best but I'm a lot closer than I was last month!

If your fear of visiting a dentist takes over your life. If you are too embarrassed to smile. If you are too afraid to brush your teeth in case you lose some of your teeth. If people look at the state of your mouth rather than look at you when you 'have' to talk to someone. If you fear you will get a lecture from the dentist when you've plucked up courage to think about booking an appointment. WORRY NO MORE THIS IS THE SURGERY TO GO TO ASAP. That's me above ! I wouldn't even smile on our daughter's wedding day for the photos !! I beg you to see these wonderful people. I'm NOT a family member or close family friend, I'm an extremely anxious person as far as dental treatment is concerned. 22nd July 2016 I had every tooth PAINLESSLY numbed and spent at least 45 mins in the hygienists chair listening to my music through their headphones so I couldn't hear the tools being used ! I then spent another 40 mins or so with Rashmie (David's wife) planning treatment and having rays. I didn't feel a thing - not even my nose !!! Please don't fear the dentist anymore, I'm not saying my fear has completely disappeared as I'm having 6 teeth removed this Friday and never had that under local so yes, I'm afraid of the unknown I'm only human after all, but I know for certain that every appointment after that will be a doddle (and when & if ever necessary again for whatever reason TOTALLY PAIN FREE). I know for sure that when I've paid off my bill I will get my husband off his NHS dentist's list straight to Southport Dental practice, these are the caring non judgemental people you need and want to look after your smile - if you don't have one, you will have soon, just like I will ☺

My dentist, Gonzalo, is absolutely fantastic- very professional, meticulous attention to detail and a warm, empathic manner. The recent extraction I had was completely pain and trauma free. I have been in Show business nearly 40 years (good grief, that long !!) I sing, so need my teeth to look as good and white as possible, I have previously had two excellent dentist, one when I was young and a Harley street Specialist. I found David on the internet, and am I pleased, Over the years I have had all kinds of procedures to my teeth and gums more root canals than I have roots and Brunel would have been amazed at my bridge work. However the passage of time meant I needed major repair work done, and wow although I am still having treatment, I am totally impressed with the work done. Nothing is too much trouble and pain free is the truth. Implants, easy, no pain........and I can smile again. So if you are looking to find the perfect answer to any dental problems, look no further, you have found the best. If this sounds over the top, quite right, you will not find better. thank you, very very much.

On a number of occasions, I have contacted David regarding unexpected dental concerns. David has responded with appropriate advice or has been willing to see me at short notice. One such occasion was quite recently when I emailed David regarding a tooth that had started to ache. Twelve months earlier, David had predicted that this tooth would require some attention on my next visit. David’s prediction was accurate and a few days later I was sitting in his chair having root canal treatment. I can honestly say that this procedure which was quite intrusive was totally pain free. Even in the following days I experienced no soreness whatsoever. David has now completed this treatment with a crown and I am confident that this will last for years to come!Since visiting Southport Road Dental, I have regularly seen Rebecca who is the hygienist. Rebecca is also lovely and totally professional and considerate of the patients’ needs. What a *GREAT* day at the dentist (and I don’t know how many people can say that).I firstly need to say I’m a ‘professional’ on what excellent, knowledgeable dental care is having been born with a cleft palate/lip. I can’t afford not to have *the* best dentist after 20yrs of surgeries to... build a face, which included surgery to take my jaws apart and put them back together in a different order. Southport Road dental have been the ongoing custodians of my dental miracle for many years and the knowledge, awareness and joined-up care from all the team (including hygienists) has always been outstanding.I know about ‘painful’ and ‘pain-free’ dentistry. At Southport Road Dental I don’t ever even have a tensing of my fingers (or the second sign, tension in calves/feet!) no matter what the complexity of work. It truely is pain-free and everyone from Reception to all the dentistry teams will treat you with the utmost care and respect from the start of your engagement with them.The teams are *so* knowledgeable about the most complex dental procedures - you can tell for everyone this a vocation not just a job. Each time I go I learn more and more about the miraculous jaw surgery I had, and the team are the most professional support crew I could hope for to make sure everything stays in good shape. But on this visit I needed a crown to replace an old amalgam filling. … It was an amazing and fascinating experience!Firstly, you literally never feel anything - even the dental injections to numb the areas are not felt, never mind the actual work. David then showed me the incredible technology they use - firstly to scan my mouth/teeth in 3D/colour - then how he uses that image to create the unique, individual-to-me crown that will have a perfect bite. Once he’s programmed the scanner it shows an image of the crown, how it’s perfectly moulded to fit my tooth and also shaped for the perfect bite. He takes a small block of the dental material to another machine where it’s automatically cut from the scanned image. It’s then fired at tremendous temperature so it will be stronger than my natural teeth and when cooled it’s fitted (including other amazing processes for fixing in place). And after David finished a few final polishings you instantly have the perfect bite. And all without feeling a thing from start to finish!I’m the F1-professional-Driver level of dentistry Client - I *have* to have a support crew as expert, knowledgeable and efficient as *the* best F1 Pit Crew ever, and Southport Road Dental have always been that partner for me for many years. From ongoing maintenance and cleaning advice with the hygienists, to expert monitoring and advice on my complex dental ‘artefacts’ to keep the miraculous gift I was given by surgeons many years ago in excellent shape.Today it was an absolute privilege to see ‘behind the scenes’ at the levels of their expert knowledge and it’s blown me away. And that takes some doing for someone who has been through what I have.I can guarantee to you this standard of service isn’t limited to one Dentist or one Hygienist, it’s a team standard and those high standards apply right through the Reception teams also. If you need a truly professional and truly pain-free Dentist this is the place. Just for interest, the photos attached is the incredible machine cutting/making my crown that David had designed. I was totally terrified of the dentist following a few bad experiences as a child and had put off attending for a VERY long time. I desperately wanted to get my broken front tooth fixed so that I wasn’t so self... conscious of it. When I first visited Alice in October she immediately calmed my nerves. Truly pain free, and so reassuring for nervous patients like me!I've been terrified of going to the dentist for as long as I remember, and have refused to go for over 10 years (despite shattering a tooth).I live miles away from the practice but the reviews and pain free promise made me... comfortable enough to at least go for a consultation.I'm so glad I did. David was incredibly friendly and reassured me from the start. He had a speedy look in my mouth and I had a few x-rays including the remnants of my shattered tooth. Rashmi and her team took me from being an extremely nervous patient who would not even have a scale and polish without IV sedation and fear of the needle to having 6 extractions in one go with only the needle and no sedation! It wasTwenty years since I last attended a dentist appointment, not because I couldn't find a dentist but because of sheer fear of dentists which was due to having a bad experience. I felt physically sick if anyone mentioned a dentist in passing conversation and I felt like a big softie but the... fear and how I felt kept me away for all of them years.I started to have niggles in my teeth and discomfort and plucked up the courage to research online, even doing the research sent me into a trembling mess. I came accross the Pain free dentist in Chorley and read all about the treatments and the reviews left by patients, which were amazing and I thought if they could do it, then so could I. I contacted the dentist and on first impressions the dental receptionist was warm and caring and understood how I felt. I made my appointment and was met by Kate the dentist. We discussed my fears in depth and my trust started to grow slowly as she understood and listened to me.My treatment was for an extraction, filling and descale, as I had gum disease too. I agreed to return for treatment but we agreed that the sedation would be the best route for me. Again this was discussed in depth and health checks were done.On the day of my treatment, even though I was nervous, I didnt feel sick and I slept the night prior to treatment day. Kate had gone through my treatment and I knew what was going to happen. Kate and her assistant were welcoming and reassuring and before I new it I was being sedated. I don't really remember anything from the treatment other than them checking my pulse and blood pressure. Then my husband was there to collect me and I went home.The whole experience has changed my concept on dentists, I have a follow up soon and will continue with further treatment needed. Wow, I cannot believe the difference in me and visiting a dentist. There is still a journey to go on but I have total trust in Kate and the team.I wasn't in any pain or discomfort during my treatment and a minute amount of pain after the treatment, nothing a paracetamol couldn't sort out.I totally get why they are called a pain free dentist and I am so glad I found them and plucked up the courage to contact them.read more
